Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Daniel Barbosa (ranked 4144 p4p, 423 weight class) and El Misterioso Damballah (ranked 2166 p4p, 256 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Daniel Barbosa has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Daniel Barbosa seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Damballah throws a nice looking combination but Barbosa bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Damballah jabs at Barbosa's body.
Barbosa steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Damballah.

We've been hearing reports that Barbosa has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
El Misterioso Damballah seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Damballah thuds his right hand into Barbosa's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.

It looks like Daniel Barbosa has been cut.

Damballah gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Damballah has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Barbosa can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Barbosa stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Damballah throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Barbosa's head.
Damballah lands a jab.
Barbosa ducks under a wild hook from Damballah.
Barbosa appears to be looking for a big counter.
Damballah takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Damballah is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Barbosa.
Damballah throws an overhand right that lands on Barbosa's shoulder, as Barbosa tries to avoid the shot.
Damballah cracks Barbosa with a right hand to the side of the head.

Damballah rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Barbosa moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Barbosa cracks Damballah with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

No joy there for Barbosa, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Barbosa clinches up with Damballah and pushes him back against the cage.

As Damballah backs away, Barbosa returns fire with a leg kick that just misses.

Barbosa's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Damballah drops Barbosa with a straight right hand, right on the button! Damballah follows him down to the mat and pounds him out with hammerfists until the referee jumps in to end the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:47 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). El Misterioso Damballah!
After the fight, El Misterioso Damballah was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
Daniel Barbosa was interviewed post fight and said 'That was most unfortunate, sir i hope you have endless farts for the rest of the night. '.
