Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Chris Davis (ranked 5689 p4p, 536 weight class) and Hokuto Akira (ranked 5471 p4p, 524 weight class). Akira is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Luis Miguel - Oro De Ley. Hokuto Akira has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Chris Davis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Hokuto Akira!
The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, John Mangel and Summer Carpenter.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Akira lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Davis tries to clinch up.

Akira's corner calls for a 1-2. Akira obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Akira misses with a looping right.
Akira looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Akira throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body.
Davis moves in looking to clinch but Akira pushes him off.
Akira swings for the body but Davis moves out of range.
Davis tries to counter by clinching up but Akira breaks away and moves out of range.
A slow jab from Akira misses its intended target.

Davis is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Davis moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Akira throws a solid leg kick but Davis takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Akira.
Akira scores with the left hand. Davis knows he should have avoided that one.
Davis slips a jab and a cross from Akira.
Davis darts in and clinches Akira up against the cage.

Davis creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Akira's defenses.
Davis keeps control of Akira as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Davis misses with a knee to the head.
Akira wants to get back to striking at distance but Davis won't allow it.
Davis tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
Akira pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Davis walks into a left hand.
Akira dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Davis. That did some damage!
Davis gets a clinch.
Akira is looking to break free of the clinch but Davis has double underhooks.
Davis throws a knee to the head but misses.
Davis lands a damaging elbow.
Akira has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Davis really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Akira avoids the elbow strike from Davis, against the cage.
Akira blocks the elbow strike.
Akira can't break the clinch.
Davis tries a knee to the head but Akira blocks it.
Davis comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.
Akira wants to break free but Davis has control.
Davis misses with a knee to the head.
Akira wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Akira breaks the clinch.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Akira jabs Davis to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Akira throws a chopping leg kick but Davis manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
Akira looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Davis moves out of range as Akira strikes.
Akira connects with a nice looking jab.
Akira tries to score with a low kick but Davis moves his leg out of the way.
Akira paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Akira sends Davis crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Akira is motioning to the referee to let Davis up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!
Davis is rocked!
It looks like Chris Davis has been cut.
Akira fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Davis.
Oh Davis is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Akira lands hard precision jab right on the jaw that stiffens Davis up and sends him tumbling to the mat! The ref grabs Akira from behind before he can pounce. Some folks in the crowd didn't like that stoppage, but I saw Davis's eyes roll way back in his head, he was done.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:40 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Hokuto Akira!
During a confident post fight interview, Hokuto Akira thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
