The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Eight steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Alequin.
Eight let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land.
Eight throws out a token jab with nothing on it.

We've been informed that Eight has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.

Alequin fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Eight avoids it really well and circles away.
Eight throws a body shot but no joy.

Alequin bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Eight really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Alequin. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Alequin works to advance to full mount. Eight defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.
