Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ryo Tanaka (ranked 3025 p4p, 335 weight class) and Walton Neo (ranked 3498 p4p, 380 weight class). Walton Neo has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The judges for this bout are Santiago Holmes, Peter Branson and Sandra Marshall.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tanaka keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Neo takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Tanaka avoids the body shot from Neo.
Some bone on bone action there as Neo checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Neo can do anything to dispel that myth.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Neo is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Neo tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Tanaka paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Neo throws a nice looking combination but Tanaka bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

That was a close second round but I would say that Ryo Tanaka will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!

Ryo Tanaka overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Neo really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Tanaka. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Tanaka won't let Neo get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Tanaka, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
