Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Don Don (ranked 6647 p4p, 212 weight class) and George Fredericks (ranked 7449 p4p, 231 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Don Don!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, George Fredericks!
The judges for this bout are Winston Alpacca, Daniel Franklin and Santiago Holmes.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Fredericks scores with a takedown into Don's guard.
Don could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Fredericks loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Fredericks stands and throws Don's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Don is trying to buck Fredericks off.

Fredericks goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Don has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Fredericks but great work by Don.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Don has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Fredericks shoots and misses
and Don counters with a left and a right that stings Fredericks.
Fredericks tries for a takedown but Don circles away easily
and Don counters with a series of strikes. Fredericks will be more careful next time no doubt.
George Fredericks seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Fredericks shoots in for a takedown but Don shows good takedown defense.
Don Don has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of George Fredericks.

Fredericks closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Don scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Fredericks manages to mount him!

Fredericks is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Don has managed to escape the submission attempt.

Fredericks swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Don is now in Fredericks's guard. A big mistake from Fredericks there, giving up the dominant position!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Don wants to get up but he can't break Fredericks's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Fredericks working for a triangle but Don defends it easily.
Don wants to stand and escape but instead Fredericks has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Fredericks is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Don is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Don has escaped and now he's on top!

Don wants to stand and escape but instead Fredericks has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Don knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Fredericks on the ground.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Fredericks connects with a couple of short punches.


It looks like Don Don has been cut.
Fredericks wants to pass the guard but Don is keeping the position.
Fredericks scoring with punches to the head and body.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Fredericks throwing strikes but missing.

Fredericks drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Fredericks jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Don wants to stand and escape but Fredericks is having none of it.
Don wants to get back to his feet but Fredericks passes into half guard.

Fredericks is looking for a kimura but Don is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Fredericks to get the leverage.

Fredericks is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Don has hold of Fredericks's hands but Fredericks slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but George Fredericks will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Don Don's cut.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.



Fredericks closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Don's guard.
Don is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Fredericks dives into side control.

Fredericks wants to control but Don is keeping him busy.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Fredericks prevents Don from escaping the position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Fredericks landing strikes.

Fredericks tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Fredericks has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Fredericks has an Americana. Don didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Fredericks is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Fredericks hooks up with any of them at the after show party.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:55 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). George Fredericks!
George Fredericks decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
