Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Klas Horn (ranked 1652 p4p, 216 weight class) and John Rydeland (ranked 1495 p4p, 197 weight class). Rydeland has chosen Robbery - Not sneak attack as his entrance music. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 21 - 16 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Klas Horn!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, John Rydeland!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Robert Twigg and Cecil Peabody.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Horn darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Horn is trying to control the action in half guard but Rydeland is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Rydeland is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Rydeland accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Horn has momentary wrist control but Rydeland slips an elbow through the middle.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Horn throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Rydeland sees it coming and avoids it easily.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Rydeland! But no joy.
Horn throws a lazy right hand but Rydeland sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Horn manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Rydeland on his heels. He'll look to pass Rydeland's guard now, I'm sure.

Rydeland had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Horn defends it easily.

Rydeland looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Horn has picked Rydeland up and slammed him! Rydeland can't keep hold of the triangle and Horn manages to pass to side control!

Horn is keen to just control but Rydeland is a slippery customer.
Horn drops an elbow to the side of Rydeland's head.
Horn seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Rydeland does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Horn has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Rydeland to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Horn is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Rydeland pulls down on the head and he's put Horn to sleep! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:29 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). John Rydeland!
After winning the bout, John Rydeland thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
