Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Eddie Malingo (ranked 1092 p4p, 120 weight class) and Kuroda Atsushii (ranked 809 p4p, 95 weight class). Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Malingo displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Atsushii throws out the jab.
Atsushii connects with a right hand. Malingo shakes it off.
Malingo shoots in for a takedown but Atsushii shows good takedown defense.
A big right from Atsushii misses.
Malingo shoots in but no luck this time.
Atsushii tries to work over Malingo's front leg with a kick but Malingo checks it.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Malingo darts in looking for a takedown but Atsushii gets double underhooks and turns Malingo into the cage.

Malingo has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Atsushii.

Atsushii ducks right into an uppercut from Malingo.
Malingo avoids the body shot from Atsushii.
Malingo takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Atsushii throws a head kick that misses.
It looked like Malingo wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Malingo takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Nice shot lands for Atsushii.

It looks like Eddie Malingo has been cut.
Atsushii scores with a nice strike.
Malingo slips under a jab from Atsushii.
Malingo lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Malingo takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.

Malingo is rocked!
Atsushii is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Malingo had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.

Atsushii fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Malingo looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Oh Malingo is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Malingo shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Atsushii but Atsushii pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Atsushii dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Malingo seems to have got his legs back now.
Atsushii throws an overhand right that drops Malingo like a sack of potatoes! Atsushii dives in to finish the fight with more strikes and this one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:25 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Kuroda Atsushii!
An out of breath Kuroda Atsushii thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
