PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Street Fighter (ranked 282 p4p, 39 weight class) and Vigorio Gonzalez (ranked 1107 p4p, 124 weight class). Fighter's entrance music is You Know How I Do It. A fine choice. Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.

With a record of 13 - 5 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Vigorio Gonzalez!
The judges for this bout are Illya Tyunina, Dmitry Maklakov and Sergei Dronov.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gonzalez lands with an uppercut that bounces Fighter off the cage and back into range.
Gonzalez scoring well with a low kick there.
Fighter throws a quick inside leg kick.
Fighter connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Fighter misses with a body shot.
Fighter misses with a few strikes there.
Fighter definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Gonzalez throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

Gonzalez tries to clinch but Fighter is having none of it.

Fighter takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.

Gonzalez fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Fighter has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Gonzalez throws out a powerful jab.

Gonzalez takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Gonzalez connects with a leg kick. Fighter looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.

Nice uppercut lands for Gonzalez. That snapped Fighter's head back.
Fighter lands with a shot to the body.
Gonzalez throws a series of punches but Fighter avoids them all with ease.

and Fighter finishes the little exchange by landing a big kick to the body.
Fighter tries a low kick but Gonzalez avoids it.
Fighter goes for a high kick. It partially lands.

It looks like Vigorio Gonzalez has been cut.
Gonzalez moves out of range as Fighter strikes.
Fighter moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.

Fighter misses with a wild body shot.

Fighter tries to clinch up but Gonzalez circles away and keeps his distance.
Gonzalez has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Fighter finds it's way round the side to connect with Gonzalez's head.

Fighter tries to pull guard but Gonzalez holds him up against the cage and eventually Fighter drops back down to his feet.

Fighter jumps guard.
Fighter seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Fighter continues to stall.
Gonzalez's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Fighter pulls Gonzalez in to control the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Gonzalez is looking to stand up but Fighter won't let him.
Fighter is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Fighter tests Gonzalez's chin there with a solid looking shot.

Gonzalez gets tackled into the cage by Fighter. Fighter maintains the clinch.

Fighter gets control of Gonzalez's arms and successfully pulls guard. Fighter will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Gonzalez would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Fighter is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The cut man is working on Vigorio Gonzalez's cut.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Fighter misses with a straight left.
Gonzalez throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Fighter is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Gonzalez can do to turn this around?

Fighter tries to land a front kick but Gonzalez steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Gonzalez! But no joy.
Fighter throws a half hearted mid kick.

and Fighter counters with a flying knee. Nice.
Fighter feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Gonzalezs jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Gonzalez throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Fighter sees it coming and avoids it easily.

Gonzalez swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Fighter checks a low kick from Gonzalez.
Gonzalez moves out of range of the body kick.
Gonzalez throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Fighter on the side of the head.
Gonzalez just misses with a punch to the body.
Fighter on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Gonzalez. Gonzalez obviously looking to wear him down.
Gonzalez comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.

Gonzalez takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.

Fighter slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Fighter cracks Gonzalez with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Gonzalez throws a body punch but Fighter moves out of range.
Fighter on the wrong end of a nice jab.
Fighter throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Gonzalez shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.

That has opened up Vigorio Gonzalez's cut even more.
Fighter throws a front kick that sends Gonzalez stumbling back into the cage.
Gonzalez takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Fighter throws an uppercut from hell that sends Gonzalez clean off his feet! He's out cold! Fighter stands back and admires his work as he thinks about that KO of the night award that is surely being wrapped up for him back stage.
