PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Schmorgen Biscuit (ranked 1213 p4p, 30 weight class) and Greg Bell (ranked 715 p4p, 30 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Schmorgen Biscuit!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Greg Bell!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Frank Antenori and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Biscuit takes the fight into the clinch.
Biscuit lands a nice uppercut.
Biscuit lands a knee to the head.
Biscuit goes for a takedown attempt but Bell pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Bell fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Biscuit manages to avoid it.
Biscuit keeps the fight on the outside.
Biscuit uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Bell.
Bell just misses with a punch to the body.
Biscuit darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Biscuit avoids the head kick by Bell.

Bell drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Biscuit has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

We've been hearing good reports from Biscuit's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Biscuit connects with a nice short shot to Bell's temple.

Biscuit lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

Bell shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Biscuit shoots for a double leg takedown but Bell sprawls well. He's pushed Biscuit's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Bell! But no joy.
Bell takes one on the chin but keeps coming.

Biscuit closes the distance and pushes Bell back into the cage.

Bell prevents the takedown attempt.
Biscuit is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Bell can do to turn this around?

Biscuit throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Bell's waist but Bell gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Biscuit off to one side.
