With a record of 14 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Dirk McDirk!
The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, Chris Edwards and Colin Fotheringham.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McDirk misses with a body shot.
McDirk throws a right and a left that both miss.
McDirk takes a swing at Machado's ribcage but misses.
McDirk displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination.


It looks like John Machado has been cut.
McDirk stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and McDirk wants it to stay on the feet.
McDirk lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.

Machado throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. McDirk was covering up waiting for the punch and Machado finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Machado drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Machado jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
McDirk is looking to stand up but Machado isn't so interested in that idea.
Machado will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Machado wants to control from the top but McDirk keeps moving.
McDirk wants to get back to his feet but Machado is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

and Machado decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in McDirk's guard.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if McDirk can do anything to dispel that myth.

McDirk pushes Machado off looking to stand but Machado dives back in and keeps control.

Machado is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
McDirk is in trouble now - Machado has advanced to mount!

Machado is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. McDirk can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Machado wants to finish this one by submission but McDirk is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Machado.

Machado can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as McDirk is looking to escape.

Machado has hold of McDirk's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and McDirk manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Machado swings around for an armbar and he's got it! Wow, that came out of nowhere! What a finish!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:29 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). John Machado!
John Machado opened up his post fight interview with a scream to camera that he wants a title shot! Whether he deserves the shot will be up to the management of the organization, so I guess he'll have to wait and see.
