Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Carl James!
The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, Bruno Lombardi and Franklyn Lucas.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Meyers has closed the distance and engaged James in a clinch.
James is trying to force a seperation but Meyers has the dominant position.
Meyers keeps the fight in the clinch, despite James's efforts to push away.

Meyers breaks the clinch.
James misses with a jab, cross combination.
James throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Meyers.
Meyers has a takedown stuffed.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Meyers dives in and grabs James's left leg, looking for a takedown. James pushes down on Meyers's head and hops out.
James throws a right hand that Meyers ducks under and follows up with a left that Meyers also avoids with ease.
Meyers shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. James defends it nicely.
Despite the aggression on James's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Perry Meyers. That's going to take a lot out of him.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Meyers clinches.
Meyers prevents James from breaking the clinch.
Meyers is trying to pull guard but James turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
James can't break the clinch.

Meyers jumps guard and drags James to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
James wanted to stand there but Meyers had control of the position.
Meyers really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Meyers manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.
James tries to circle away but Meyers has him pinned against the cage.

Meyers pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
James stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and James wants it to stay on the feet.
James is looking for the big counter here.
Meyers has his takedown stuffed

and James counters with a crisp right hand that drops Meyers! James lets Meyers back up to his feet, looking for a finish!


Meyers is rocked!


It looks like Perry Meyers has been cut.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
James throws a right and a left that Meyers avoids nicely.
Oh Meyers is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Meyers drops his hands for a split second and James immediately capitalizes on the opportunity by smashing a powerful hook into Meyers face, sending his mouthguard sailing through the air, much to the delight of the crowd. James follows up with a right hand that knocks Meyers into next week. He's out cold and this fight is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:49 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Carl James!
Carl James decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
