Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Kris Lang (ranked 24778 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ali Omar (ranked 5992 p4p, 0 weight class). Ali Omar has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Kris Lang's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kris Lang!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ali Omar!
The judges for this bout are Taro Takaoka, Yuuki Gou and Kenichi Hosakawa.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Omar closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Lang is letting Omar control him for a moment.
Lang tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Omar wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
What's Lang going to do here then? He's in a bit of a pickle.
Omar throws an elbow but Lang slips to the side and avoids it well.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Omar stands up and beckons Lang to his feet.

Lang drives through with a takedown into Omar's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

Omar manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.

Lang pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Lang breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Lang throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Omar tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.

Well, if Omar is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Omar is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Lang wants to get back to full guard.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Lang trying to control from the bottom.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
It looks like Omar is going to stand back up.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Omar drives through with a takedown into guard.
Lang is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.



Omar shoots in and bounces Lang off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Omar pulls Lang in close to prevent any damage.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Omar is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Lang can't fight it off and eventually Omar manages to take the fight to the floor. Lang looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Omar controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

Lang is trying to control the position but Omar postures up.
Omar with a flurry of punches that miss.

Lang seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Omar moves into the clinch successfully.

Lang breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

and Omar counters with a straight punch to the midsection.

Ali Omar has got the better of the ground game so far.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Omar throws the kick towards the body but Lang avoids it.

Omar had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Lang defends it easily.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Ali Omar is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Well Omar has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
