Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Elden Stokes (ranked 7214 p4p, 0 weight class) and Reineir Silvain (ranked 6932 p4p, 0 weight class). Elden Stokes has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Elden Stokes!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Reineir Silvain!
The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, Russell Pearce and Joseph Jones.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stokes fails in his attempt to clinch.
Stokes moves out of range of the leg kick from Silvain.
Silvain shoots for a takedown but Stokes saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Stokes wants to clinch up but Silvain keeps it at a distance.

Silvain fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Stokes sprawls well initially but Silvain persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Silvain is pressing down on Stokes's thigh, looking to free his foot. Stokes is holding on for now.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Silvain is trying to control the action in half guard but Stokes is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Stokes knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Silvain on the ground.
Stokes is not content to let Silvain control the position.
Stokes is trying to maintain the position but Silvain is very close to passing his half guard.

Silvain is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Stokes doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Silvain.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Stokes kicks Silvain off and gets back to his feet.
Silvain should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Stokes is looking to clinch but Silvain is avoiding it.
Silvain keeps the fight on the outside.
Silvain blocks a leg kick.

Silvain has taken the fight to the clinch.
Come on Silvain - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.

Silvain jumps guard.

Stokes throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Silvain works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Silvain seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Silvain looking for a sweep. Not yet Silvain, not yet.
Silvain is still trying to improve position.
We've been informed that Silvain has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.
Stokes postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Silvain striking off his back but it's not causing Stokes any problems.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Stokes throws a big right hand that misses.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Silvain is on top in guard.

Silvain controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

Stokes is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Silvain is aware though and is defending well.

Silvain passes into half guard.
Silvain content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Silvain passes to full mount!
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Silvain is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Stokes has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Stokes!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Silvain is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Stokes tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Silvain paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Silvain tries to counter with a clinch but Stokes shakes him off and moves away.
Stokes misses with the combination.
Silvain is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch.

Silvain closes the distance and clinches.
Silvain is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Stokes misses with a punch to the body.
Silvain's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

Silvain is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.
Silvain jumps guard but Stokes stands there with Silvain around his waist. Silvain gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Silvain has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Stokes is trying to break the clinch but Silvain has him pressed against the cage.
Stokes misses with a body punch.
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.
Stokes tries to pull guard but Silvain holds him up against the cage and eventually Stokes drops back down to his feet.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Silvain has Stokes pressed against the cage, preventing Stokes from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Silvain is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.

The ref breaks the fighters up, due to lack of action by Reineir Silvain.
Stokes is looking to clinch but Silvain is avoiding it.
Silvain only half commits to the counter leg kick.
Silvain tries to score a power double leg takedown but Stokes sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Silvain somewhat.
As Silvain tries to get set, Stokes tries to push him back and clinch up but Silvain manages to avoid the attempt.
Stokes is looking to clinch.

Silvain pushes Stokes up against the cage in a clinch.
Stokes tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Silvain avoids it.
Stokes unloads a knee to the mid-section. Silvain lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.

Silvain jumps guard but Stokes turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Elden Stokes has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Reineir Silvain.

Reineir Silvain showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!


Stokes leaves Silvain with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Silvain throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Stokes tries to clinch but Silvain moves out of range.
Elden Stokes is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Silvain looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Stokes is fending him off so far but Silvain persists. Nope, Stokes circles away and we're back to standing.
A slapping leg kick lands for Stokes.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Silvain chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Stokes can pounce on him.
The fight stays on the outside here - Stokes looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Silvain closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Stokes quickly recovers to half guard.
The fighters are battling for position here. Stokes manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

Silvain drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Stokes dives on top into guard.

Silvain bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Stokes's guard.

Silvain is looking to advance position but Stokes won't allow it.
Stokes is looking to escape.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Stokes really wants to buck Silvain off and get back to his feet.

Silvain moves to take his opponent's back.

Silvain is working on the RNC. He looks like he's got it but Stokes won't tap... Oh, he's out! The ref rips Silvain off his unconscious opponent!
