PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Fyodor Pending (ranked 5479 p4p, 0 weight class) and Roger Rydell (ranked 2482 p4p, 126 weight class). Fyodor Pending had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 59 - 90 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Fyodor Pending!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Roger Rydell!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Wesley Smith and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pending walks into a stiff left hand from Rydell.
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Rydell!
Rydell punishes Pending's body with a nice straight punch.
Rydell lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Rydell.
Pending drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Pending takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Rydell connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.

Pending gets caught flat footed, as Rydell shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Rydell sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Pending's guard.

Pending got a little sloppy there for a moment and Rydell has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Pending has managed to get both his arms back between Rydell's legs - danger averted.

Pending walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.

Pending working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Rydell doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Rydell manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Well Rydell has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
