Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Niels Pepijn (ranked 23057 p4p, 0 weight class) and Len Walsh (ranked 22467 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Pepijn might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Not Afraid by Eminem. Niels Pepijn has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Len Walsh!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Walsh tries to keep at a distance but Pepijn has taken the fight into the clinch.

Walsh is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Walsh has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Pepijn has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.

Pepijn has Walsh pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Pepijn pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Walsh tumbling to the mat - Pepijn dives into Walsh's guard.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Walsh is on top in guard.

Walsh has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Pepijn is proving hard to escape from.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Pepijn fails with an attempt to clinch.
Walsh unleashes a big counter combination but Pepijn bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.

Pepijn is looking to stand back up but Walsh counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Pepijn.
Walsh should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Walsh looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Walsh connects with a nice short shot to Pepijn's temple.

Walsh is trying to work for a kimura but Pepijn is defending well.

Walsh seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Pepijn is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
