Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Doink The Clown!
The judges for this bout are Bart Greer, Sandra Marshall and Santiago Holmes.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cornell shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with The Clown but The Clown pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Cornell shoots in and drives through. The Clown sprawls well.
Cornell tries for a takedown but The Clown circles away easily
enabling The Clown to counter with a crisp jab.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Chris Cornell. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Cornell fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Cornell shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in The Clown's guard.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
The Clown can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Cornell controls the pace.
Cornell has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.

Cornell is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
The Clown is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Cornell looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Well, if Cornell is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Cornell seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down The Clown for as long as he can get away with.

The Clown is refusing to be controlled, as Cornell sits in half guard.

Cornell passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for The Clown!
Cornell wants to take The Clown's back here but The Clown is holding on to an arm, himself looking to escape.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if The Clown can do anything to dispel that myth.

Cornell is looking to work his way around to The Clown's back. He needs to be careful though, as he's in danger of losing this dominant position.

Cornell's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Cornell is going oldschool here, as he tries to force The Clown to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so The Clown shrugs it off.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

That's time! Cornell's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

The Clown stuffs the takedown attempt from Cornell. Cornell gets slowly back to his feet.
The Clown fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.

Cornell will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

The Clown pushes Cornell up against the cage in a clinch.
Cornell changes levels and goes for a takedown here. The Clown fights it off and pushes away nicely.
The Clown catches Cornell with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
The Clown looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

Cornell doesn't succeed with the takedown
and The Clown counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Chris Cornell seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
The crowd cheers as The Clown lands an impressive looking overhand right. Cornell doesn't seem phased though.

A nice right hand lands inside from The Clown.
The Clown scores with a knee to the head.
Cornell drops down looking for an ankle pick but The Clown pulls his leg out and moves away.
Cornell takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Chris Cornell is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
The Clown lands an uppercut out of nowhere! Cornell falls backwards - clearly groggy! The Clown dives in and finishes the fight with more strikes for a TKO finish!
