The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Lashley shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Lashley showed some decent athleticism there.
White is trying to stand.
White has hold of Lashley's hands but Lashley slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
White pushes Lashley off looking to stand but Lashley dives back in and keeps control.
Lashley takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Lashley shoots in looking for a takedown but White manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Lashley's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Lashley has hold of White's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and White manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
White is trying to stand but he's just given Lashley his back.
White is trying to get back to his feet but Lashley has full control of the position and if anything, White has just worked his way into a worse spot.

As White backs off Lashley throws a huge counter combo but White manages to avoid it all.

Lashley bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
And Lashley responds with a good body kick, but White manages to step out the way in time.

Lashley shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. White manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Lashley looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Lashley closes this distance looking for a takedown but White circles away.

Lashley fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging White to the ground. Lashley is now in White's guard.
White is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Lashley dives into side control.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
White is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Lashley asserts his dominance and retains side control.

Lashley is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. White defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.

After the fight, Bobby Lashley was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
