Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jason Rage (ranked 161 p4p, 23 weight class) and DeShawn Johnson (ranked 395 p4p, 55 weight class). Rage kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is For Heavy Metal we will die!. Johnson has chosen Eazy e- real mother fuckin gs as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 23 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jason Rage!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 24 - 10 - 0, fighting out of London, DeShawn Johnson!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A cross from Rage lands.


It looks like DeShawn Johnson has been cut.
Johnson fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Rage uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Johnson.
Rage drops down looking for a counter takedown but Johnson sprawls and moves away.
Rage lands an overhand right.
Johnson moves out of range of the strikes.
Good exchange - Rage coming out on top.
Johnson takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Johnson takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Rage shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Johnson counters with a one-two to the body.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Rage moves away from the strike by Johnson.
No joy there for Rage, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Rage lands with a hook. Johnson tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Rage lands a slapping body shot.
Rage walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Rage throws a hook to the side of Johnson's head but Johnson sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
A jab lands there for Rage.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Rage moves away from the strike by Johnson.
Nice cross by Rage.
Nice shot lands for Rage.
Rage throws a body shot but no joy.
Rage misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Johnson now looks to counter with a shot at the body.
Rage scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Johnson misses with a wild body shot.
Rage attempts a counter takedown but Johnson avoids it well and moves away.
Rage slips under a jab.
Johnson throws out a loose jab but Rage uses good head movement to avoid it.
Johnson has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Johnson there as he acknowledges the shot.
DeShawn Johnson is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Nice body punch from Rage.
A head kick by Rage misses
and Johnson counters with a nice uppercut.
Johnson scores with a punch to the head.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Rage slips under a jab from Johnson.
Rage shoots in looking for a takedown but Johnson manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Rage's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Johnson! But no joy.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Rage misses with a hook
and Johnson counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Rage keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Johnson takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Rage shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Johnson sprawls well. Johnson wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Rage gets slowly back to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jason Rage. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Rage scores with a jab to the head.
A decent looking body kick lands there for Rage.
Rage connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Johnson takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.
A lazy left from Johnson finds it's target.
Rage throws an off balance right hand
and Johnson makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Rage really felt that one!
Rage misses with a right hand
and Johnson counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Rage with a nice cross.
Jason Rage seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
An inside leg kick lands from Rage.
Johnson throws a lazy uppercut

and Rage counters with a takedown into side control.
Rage working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter.
Rage throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and Johnson works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure.
Rage controlling the pace.
We've been hearing that Rage has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.
Rage working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Rage lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Rage throws a strike but Johnson avoids it easily and moves to full guard.
Rage pushes down on Johnson's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Rage lands strikes from half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Johnson wants to get back to full guard.
Rage not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Rage wants to lay and pray for a moment but Johnson keeps working.
Rage working Johnson over with strikes.
Rage not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Johnson manages to get to full guard.
Rage postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Johnson seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Rage is in close to Johnson's body, working some short punches and elbows.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jason Rage dominated that round.
The cut man is working on DeShawn Johnson's cut.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Rage throws a lazy uppercut
and Johnson counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Rage thinking.
A cross from Rage lands.
Johnson takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
Rage tries to bum rush Johnson with a series of wild strikes but Johnson uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
A jab from Rage misses.
Johnson misses with a hook. Rage ducked under it nicely.
Rage fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Johnson waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Rage.
Rage is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Johnson can do to turn this around?
Rage takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.


Johnson is rocked!
Johnson glances at the clock... BAM! Rage nails him with a big right hand! A momentary lapse in concentration sends Johnson crashing to the mat! The referee steps in and this one is over! Damn, Johnson is out of it, he thinks the ref is his opponent!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:43 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Jason Rage!
After the fight, Jason Rage was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
