PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Bernardo De Barros (ranked 2963 p4p, 332 weight class) and Che Huu Mo (ranked 4653 p4p, 475 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The judges for this bout are Francis DeMontford, Winston Howard and Ben Hemmingworth.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
De Barros tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Mo was well out of range. Poor timing from De Barros.
De Barros throws a head kick that misses
and Mo counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
De Barros takes a swing at Mo's ribcage but misses.
Mo throws an overhand right that lands on De Barros's shoulder, as De Barros tries to avoid the shot.
De Barros feinted with a counter takedown.
Mo closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
De Barros has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Soul Supremacy Rio in the buildup to the fight.

Mo scores with a crisp jab that stopped De Barros in his tracks.
Mo bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps De Barros's head backwards.

Mo connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.

De Barros postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Mo is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of De Barros, into his guard.

Mo stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. De Barros swivels though and keeps the full guard.

A close round but Che Huu Mo will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Mo let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land.

Mo really doesn't want to stay on the ground with De Barros. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.
Mo lands a punch that was close to the back of the head but the ref thinks it's OK.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

De Barros moves away from the strike by Mo.
De Barros throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

A decent looking cross lands there for Mo.
Mo has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

enabling Mo to counter with a crisp jab.

Mo shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in De Barros's guard.

De Barros has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Mo is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for De Barros.

De Barros drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Mo dives on top into guard.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Well Mo has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
