The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Sanada should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Tyler shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Sanada napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Sanada tries to buck Tyler off but Tyler is having none of it.
Sanada wants to control but Tyler postures up.

Tyler looks up at the clock and then as Sanada takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Tyler smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

If it seems like I'm not saying a lot, it's just because Tyler is stinking the place up with his stalling.

Tyler tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Tyler has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Tyler tries to move to mount but Sanada blocks the move with his legs.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Sanada tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Tyler presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!
Tyler is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Sanada can do to turn this around?

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Sanada fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Tyler has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Paul Tyler seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Tyler closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Sanada to the mat! Sanada manages to get full guard.

Sanada is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Tyler is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Tyler is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
This is a sustained period of stalling by Tyler.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Tyler remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Tyler, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
