PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Damian Brooks (ranked 2925 p4p, 337 weight class) and Piranha Chonan (ranked 2491 p4p, 289 weight class). Brooks comes to the cage accompanied by Notorious B.I.G. - Juicy. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Brooks drives through with a takedown into guard.

Chonan pushes Brooks off and scrambles back to his feet.
Brooks changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Chonan tries to avoid it but Brooks manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Chonan to the ground. Chonan escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Brooks takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Chonan swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Brooks has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Chonan avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Chonan is fighting off a takedown attempt but Brooks is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Chonan to the mat. Chonan regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

Brooks shoots in for a double leg but Chonan sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Brooks shoots in and bounces Chonan off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Chonan is looking to stand back up but Brooks counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Chonan.

Piranha Chonan showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Brooks's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

Chonan throws a body punch but Brooks moves out of range.
