Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Vincent Oketch (ranked 406 p4p, 18 weight class) and The Prophet (ranked 1007 p4p, 49 weight class). Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 33 - 22 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Vincent Oketch!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, The Prophet!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Oketch shoots for a double leg takedown but Prophet sprawls well. He's pushed Oketch's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Oketch with a poor takedown
and Prophet counters with a nice body shot.
Oketch walks into a straight right hand from Prophet.
Oketch tests Prophet's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Oketch shoots in for a takedown but Prophet shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

and Oketch counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Oketch manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Prophet on his heels. He'll look to pass Prophet's guard now, I'm sure.

Oketch tries for a kimura but Prophet is defending well.
Prophet felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.
Oketch wants to control but Prophet is keeping him busy.

Oketch is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Prophet has escaped the position, nice work there.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Prophet is trying to control Oketch's posture but Oketch avoids it.
Prophet is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Prophet is staying active underneath Oketch, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Prophet is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Oketch is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Prophet doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Oketch.

Prophet keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Oketch thows a huge punch but Prophet dodges it nicely.

Oketch is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Prophet defends it well.
Prophet avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Oketch.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Oketch passes the guard and advances to mount!
Oketch throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Prophet because Oketch loaded up on that one.
Prophet tries to hold on but Oketch postures up.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Oketch tries to control but Prophet wriggling away.
Prophet avoids a series of strikes thrown by Oketch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

and Prophet counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Prophet misses with a straight right.
Prophet checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
Oketch shoots for a double leg takedown but Prophet sprawls well. He's pushed Oketch's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Oketch closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Prophet to the mat! Prophet manages to get full guard.
Prophet looking to hit a scissor sweep but Oketch is one step ahead there.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Prophet wants to control but Oketch is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Oketch wants to take a breather but Prophet is having none of it.

Oketch is looking for a kimura but Prophet is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Oketch to get the leverage.
Prophet has his hands clasped together around Oketch's back. He's all about the action.
Oketch is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Prophet can do to turn this around?
Oketch seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Prophet does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Oketch is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Prophet is concentrating on defense, preventing Oketch from advancing position.
Prophet is trying to maintain the position but Oketch is very close to passing his half guard.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Prophet gets caught napping as Oketch dives in and scores a takedown. Prophet manages to retain guard.

Oketch looking to sit in guard and control but Prophet gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.


Oketch working for a triangle but Prophet defends it easily.

Oketch is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Prophet is aware though and is defending well.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Prophet wants to pass the guard but Oketch is keeping the position.
Prophet is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Prophet advances position into side control!
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Prophet wants to lay and pray for a moment but Oketch keeps working.

That was a close second round but I would say that Vincent Oketch will probably get the nod.

A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Oketch.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Prophet! But no joy.

It seemed like Prophet was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Prophet loads up on a big right hand but Oketch slips the punch.
Prophet lands a jab to the nose.
Prophet cracks Oketch with a right hand to the side of the head.

Prophet lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Oketch circles away quickly and effectively.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Oketch moves out of range as Prophet strikes.
A jab from Prophet does it's job there.
Prophet takes a swing at Oketch's ribcage but misses.
Prophet misses with a hook. Oketch ducked under it nicely.
A quick step to the side and Oketch tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.
Oketch throws an overhand right that lands on Prophet's shoulder, as Prophet tries to avoid the shot.
The Prophet is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
A good leg kick by Oketch.
Prophet lands a head shot.
Oketch shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Prophet as he avoids it easily.
Oketch tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Prophet swivels and escapes.

Prophet looks to land a left hand but Oketch moved out of range nicely.
A little feinted left hand from Oketch on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Prophet clobbers Oketch with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Prophet cracks Oketch with a right hand to the side of the head.

Oketch dives in and grabs Prophet's left leg, looking for a takedown. Prophet pushes down on Oketch's head and hops out.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Prophet scores with a nice right hand.
Oketch chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Prophet can pounce on him.
Oketch fails with a takedown attempt.
Prophet is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The Prophet really dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

It's got to the stage where if one of these guys blows hard enough, the other might fall over.
Oketch ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Oketch changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
A lazy left from Prophet finds it's target.
Prophet stalks Oketch and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Oketch's face. Oketch staggers backwards, shaken.


Oketch is rocked!
Oketch takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Oh Oketch is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Prophet walks forward and throws a big overhand right! Oketch drops to the floor like a sack of potatoes! Prophet swarms on him with more punches until the referee wrestles him away from Oketch's unconscious body! Wow, that was brutal!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:55 of round 4, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). The Prophet!
