PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Marilson Coutinho (ranked 5587 p4p, 254 weight class) and Dolph Landgren (ranked 2411 p4p, 125 weight class). Landgren comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Hunter by Paleowolf kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Dolph Landgren is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Landgren tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Coutinho manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Landgren tries to clinch there but Coutinho circles away.
Coutinho half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.

Coutinho lands with a hook. Landgren tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.

Coutinho's jab looks to have found its range, popping Landgren under the eye.

Coutinho cracks Landgren with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

Coutinho shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Landgren manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Coutinho tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Coutinho has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Coutinho throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Coutinho thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Coutinho is working to tighten his grip on Landgren's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Landgren has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Coutinho is really squeezing tight and eventually Landgren passes out! Coutinho breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
