Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ike Ibeabuchi!
The judges for this bout are Fedor Mirinova, Igor Prikhodko and Aleksandr Martynov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Menshikov throws a looping overhand right but Ibeabuchi ducks down to avoid it.
Ibeabuchi slips under a jab from Menshikov.
Menshikov looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Menshikov throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Menshikov looks to land a left hand but Ibeabuchi moved out of range nicely.
Ibeabuchi throws out a counter right but Menshikov avoids it with no problem.
Menshikov lands a jab to Ibeabuchi's midsection.
Menshikov swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Ibeabuchi throws a counter combo.
Menshikov cracks Ibeabuchi with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Ibeabuchi staying out of range there.
Ibeabuchi fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Ibeabuchi defending well as Menshikov loads up on a big left hand.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Ibeabuchi throws a shot from downtown. Menshikov moves away and avoids it.
Menshikov is looking to counter punch.
Ibeabuchi has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Menshikov throws a poor cross that misses
and Ibeabuchi counters with a one-two to the body.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Ibeabuchi slips a straight right by Menshikov.

Ibeabuchi drops Menshikov with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Menshikov looks back up at him and smiles so Ibeabuchi waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.


Menshikov is rocked!


It looks like Maxim Menshikov has been cut.
Menshikov doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Oh Menshikov is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Menshikov is breathing heavily.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Ibeabuchi moves away from the strike by Menshikov.
Menshikov seems to have got his legs back now.

Ibeabuchi sends Menshikov crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Ibeabuchi is motioning to the referee to let Menshikov up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!
Menshikov works Ibeabuchi's body with a nice hook.
Ibeabuchi is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Menshikov.
Menshikov went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
Menshikov misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Ibeabuchi on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Menshikov throws a lazy uppercut
and Ibeabuchi counters with a big right hand! Oh Menshikov is in trouble here! Ibeabuchi follows up with more strikes and that's it! The ref has stopped it!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:07 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Ike Ibeabuchi!
