Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Henson Benderson (ranked 244 p4p, 30 weight class) and Derui Pake (ranked 889 p4p, 97 weight class). Benderson comes into the arena with The Time is Now blaring out of the sound system. Pake has chosen Band Maid - Thrill as his entrance music. Man, I cannot wait for this one!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pake takes one to the side of the head.
Benderson closes the distance but Pake moves to the side
and Benderson takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

and Pake counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
A shot to the body from Pake misses
and Benderson cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

It seemed like Pake was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Pake keeps the fight on the outside.
Benderson slips a jab from Pake.
Benderson looked to counter that last move with a leg kick but didn't pull the trigger.
Benderson feints and then cracks Pake's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Pake down.
Pake tries to score with a low kick but Benderson moves his leg out of the way.

Benderson lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Benderson cracks Pake with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

It looks like Benderson has been trying to sharpen up his punching technique, as it looks crisper than last time we saw him.
Pake swats away the attempt to clinch by Benderson.

and Benderson finishes the little exchange by landing a big kick to the body.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Benderson throws a push kick but Pake slaps the foot to one side.
Pake throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Benderson ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

Pake manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.

Pake wants to control the position but Benderson says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.

Pake wants to control but Benderson is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Pake is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Benderson is pressing down on Pake's thigh, looking to free his foot. Pake is holding on for now.

Pake tries to roll over but Benderson keeps him under control.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Benderson throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Pake throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Benderson counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Pake avoids the head kick by Benderson.
Pake doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter.
Pake will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

Pake throws a front kick aimed at Benderson's knee but Benderson avoids it well.

The fighters circle momentarily. Benderson darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

Pake is rocked!
Benderson goes for a small jab and connects. Now Benderson goes in closer pressing the issue. Left hook, right straight! Pake stumbles back but Benderson runs in with a huge uppercut knocking Pake to the ground! What a finish! You have to wonder if Pake will ever be the same after a knockout like that.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:50 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Henson Benderson!
