Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Har Ambe (ranked 2880 p4p, 0 weight class) and Michael Scott (ranked 6039 p4p, 0 weight class). Ambe's entrance music is Rittz - For Real. A fine choice. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.

The judges for this bout are Peter Branson, Sandra Marshall and Michael Johnstone.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ambe loads up on a big right hand but Scott slips the punch.

Scott fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Ambe, pushing him back against the cage.
Ambe holding his opponent close, against the cage.
Ambe working aggressively here.
Ambe prevents the takedown attempt.
Scott drops down looking for an ankle pick but Ambe pulls his leg out and moves away.

Ambe moves into the clinch.
Scott is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Ambe pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Har Ambe has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Michael Scott.
Scott misses with a hook to the ribs.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Scott tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Ambe just stands there and leans against the cage.

Ambe ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Ambe no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Scott stands and steps away. Ambe gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Scott shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Ambe as he avoids it easily.

Ambe scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Ambe seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Scott does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Ambe misses the jab.
Ambe is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Scott.

Scott tries to score a power double leg takedown but Ambe sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Scott somewhat.
Michael Scott is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Ambe throws a lazy right hand but Scott sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Scott moves out of range of the strikes.
Scott steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Ambe.
Scott ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Scott throws a sloppy head kick and Ambe moves out of range easily.
An attempted straight right counter from Ambe misses the target.

Scott throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Ambe was covering up waiting for the punch and Scott finishes the takedown easily into guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Ambe is adopting a defensive guard.
Scott is breathing heavily.

Ambe working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Scott doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Scott manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Ambe holds on and takes a little breather.

Ambe escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Scott gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Ambe seems keen to control Scott's posture.
Scott wants to get up but he can't break Ambe's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Ambe is looking to sweep but instead, Scott has passed into half guard.
Ambe gets back to full guard.
Ambe wants to sweep here but Scott controlling him for the moment.

Ambe is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Scott wants to control but Ambe is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Ambe has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Well, if Ambe is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Ambe looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Scott with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Ambe seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Ambe is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Scott sees it coming and defends easily.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Ambe has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Scott is trying to keep an underhook but Ambe manages to get the takedown into half guard.

Ambe is working for a submission of some sort.

Ambe is looking for a kimura but Scott is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Ambe to get the leverage.
Ambe takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Scott wants to control but Ambe is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Scott slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.

Ambe postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.

Har Ambe is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Ambe in particular looking to stall.
Scott is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Ambe scores with a couple of nice shots.

Ambe has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Ambe is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Scott is surviving well by controlling Ambe's body position as best he can.
Ambe lands a couple of good shots and Scott has given up his back, trying to escape the position!
Ambe really has the hooks in deep now - there seems like no escape for Scott.
Har Ambe overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Michael Scott has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
What can Scott do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!

Well Ambe has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
