Dupuis comes to the ring accompanied by Getting Stronger. Akhmed has chosen Allahu Trapbar as his entrance music. David Dupuis has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 1 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, David Dupuis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 5 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Super Akhmed!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Yukihiro Shimada and Tatsuya Matsuyama.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dupuis displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination.


It looks like Super Akhmed has been cut.
Dupuis fails to land with a series of punches.
Dupuis throws a nice looking combination but Akhmed bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Akhmed wants to counter the offense by Dupuis and move into the clinch position.

Dupuis has closed the distance and engaged Akhmed in a clinch.
Akhmed wants to break free but Dupuis has control.
Akhmed is looking to break free of the clinch but Dupuis has double underhooks.
Akhmed lands a shot to the body.
Dupuis lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
Akhmed wants to get back to striking at distance but Dupuis won't allow it.

Dupuis's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Akhmed tries to keep at a distance but Dupuis has taken the fight into the clinch.
Dupuis is pushing Akhmed up against the ropes, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.

Akhmed manages to break the clinch.
Good leg kick by Dupuis there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Akhmed misses with the combination.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Akhmed misses with a wild body shot.
A decent looking body kick lands there for Dupuis.
Dupuis looks to land a combination but Akhmed avoids it well.
Dupuis fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Dupuis lands with a cross.

Dupuis clinches up against the ropes.
The referee is keeping an eye on Dupuis - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
Akhmed has had enough of the clinch but Dupuis keeps him there for the moment.
Akhmed wants to get back to striking at distance but Dupuis won't allow it.
A right handed body shot lands from Dupuis.

Dupuis breaks from the clinch.

Akhmed tries to keep at a distance but Dupuis has taken the fight into the clinch.

Dupuis pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Akhmed ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Dupuis moves away.
A combination from Dupuis does no damage.
Akhmed swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.

Dupuis staggers Akhmed with a jab and knocks him down with a follow up straight! Akhmed looks in trouble, will he beat the count?! The count has reached 5 and he's only back to 1 knee - it's going to be close! 6,7,8 - he's up! Just in time and the ref is going to let the fight continue!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Dupuis instigates a clinch.
Dupuis has Akhmed pressed against the ropes, preventing Akhmed from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Dupuis lands a nice uppercut.

Dupuis breaks the clinch.
Dupuis falls off balance throwing a combination
and Akhmed counters with a stiff right hand.
Dupuis listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.
David Dupuis is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Dupuis scores a knockdown with a big right hand! Akhmed beats the count and gets back to his feet. The referee asks him to walk forwards and it appears he is OK so we'll continue the bout.

Dupuis throws a combination that misses

and Akhmed counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Akhmed.

Dupuis breaks the clinch momentarily and cracks Akhmed with a big right hook that drops him to the canvas! Akhmed looks like he might be in big trouble here! The referee has started the count straight away and we're up to 5 already. Akhmed get to one knee - can he make it back to his feet? Yes, he's struggled back up to his feet and seems OK to continue. The referee agrees so we're back to the action!
Akhmed is still on wobbly legs! Can Dupuis finish him?
Dupuis misses with a series of wild punches.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Akhmed throws a series of punches but Dupuis moves out of range.
Akhmed seems to have recovered his senses.
Akhmed tries to clinch up but Dupuis circles away and keeps his distance.
Akhmed slips a jab and a cross from Dupuis.

Dupuis has Akhmed up against the ropes in a clinch.

Akhmed breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
The fight stays on the outside here - Akhmed looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
David Dupuis seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Dupuis swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Akhmed throws a counter combo.
Akhmed scores with a jab. Dupuis acknowledges it with a nod of the head.

Dupuis scores a flash knockdown with a right hook that drops Akhmed to his hands and knees! The ref pushes Dupuis away as he looks to land an illegal blow. Akhmed got an extra few seconds to recover there, which could have made all the differences as he stumbles back to his feet. The referee looks into his eyes and decides to allow the bout to continue. Can he survive?!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Dupuis closes the distance and lands a lead uppercut that stumbles Akhmed back against the ropes! Dupuis follows up with a jab and a huge straight right that knocks Akhmed out cold! What a finish! Dupuis looks absolutely delighted, as he should do! Congratulations that man!
