Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Yuran Franco (ranked 3949 p4p, 399 weight class) and Sam Assad (ranked 22743 p4p, 644 weight class). Sam Assad will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Nice takedown defense from Assad. No joy for Franco on that attempt.
Assad throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.

Franco looking to score a takedown here. Assad is defending well but Franco drives through and ends up in Assad's guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Franco accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Assad is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
