Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Badou Baha (ranked 1543 p4p, 228 weight class) and Michio Kaku (ranked 4601 p4p, 552 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Kaku's choice of entrance music: We will rock you. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 10 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Michio Kaku!
The judges for this bout are Aafke Stam, Radbod Blank and Wagner Zegers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Baha lands a really nice looking cross but Kaku seems unphased.
Baha scores with a jab to the body.
Kaku walks into a stiff left hand from Baha.
Kaku looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

Kaku darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Baha works his way to full guard. Good work.
Baha on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Baha tries to get out of the position.
Kaku throwing strikes but missing.
Kaku tries to free his leg and advance position but Baha is retaining full guard.
Baha is looking to stand up but Kaku isn't so interested in that idea.
Kaku in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

Kaku throws a strike but Baha rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Baha wants to get up but he can't break Kaku's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Baha not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Kaku is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Baha sizes up Kaku with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Baha with a nice cross.
Baha throws a jab when Kaku was well out of range.
Baha connects with an inside leg kick.
Kaku tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Baha defends well and Kaku ends up having to push Baha into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Badou Baha seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Baha scores with the left hand. Kaku knows he should have avoided that one.
Baha lands a nice shot that snaps Kaku's head back.
Baha throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Baha connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Kaku shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Baha as he avoids it easily.
Kaku dives in for a single leg takedown but Baha sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Baha swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Badou Baha has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Michio Kaku.
Kaku closes this distance looking for a takedown but Baha circles away.
Baha digs a good hook to Kaku's body.
Baha tried to score with a low kick but Kaku checks it.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Baha displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Kaku.
Kaku doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Baha makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Kaku looks winded!
Kaku tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Baha swings away with a leg kick that misses.
Kaku on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Baha cracks a nice hook into Kaku's ribs.
Baha throws a sloppy head kick and Kaku moves out of range easily.
Kaku gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Kaku looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
A quick step to the side and Baha tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.
Today's fight clock is brought to you by... OOOH that's a huge shot by Baha! Kaku is in big trouble here - the ref steps in to save him and this one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:53 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Badou Baha!

After the big win, Badou Baha made sure to do all the important stuff like thanking his sponsors Perkele! and telling the interviewer how much he loves him.
In defeat, Michio Kaku stepped up to the mic, saying '...'.
