Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kajun Puno (ranked 36 p4p, 4 weight class) and Rocket Bob Frankels (ranked 81 p4p, 9 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Puno might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to デッドマンズ銃. Frankels has chosen Dawn....Summer Solstice... as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, Colin Fotheringham and Andrew Berry.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Puno takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.
Puno lands with a nice body kick.
Frankels moves out of range of the body kick from Puno.
Puno scores with a jab to the body.
Frankels missing with a left hand there. Puno was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Frankels lunges at Puno with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Puno's hand.
Frankels throws the left hand but Puno avoids the punch easily.
Frankels moves out of range of the body kick.
Puno misses with a body shot.
That kick from Puno tenderised Frankels's leg. Frankels is trying to keep his angry face on.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Frankels.
Frankels has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
A jab from Frankels does it's job there.
Puno throws a lazy right hand but Frankels sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Frankels swings and misses with a hook to the body.

It looks like Rocket Bob Frankels has been cut.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

It seemed like Frankels was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.

and Frankels counters with a low kick, right behind Puno 's knee.
Puno dodges the punch combination from Frankels.
Frankels throws a head kick but Puno moves out of range.
Frankels misses with an uppercut. Puno saw that one coming.

Puno connects with a right hand. Frankels shakes it off.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Frankels sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.

Puno slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
That has opened up Rocket Bob Frankels's cut even more.
Frankels feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Puno's calf.
Frankels smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.

Puno takes a jab right on the kisser.
Puno throws a quick inside leg kick.
Frankels throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body.

and Frankels counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Frankels throws a mid kick that lands with a slap.
Puno takes a kick to the body and keeps moving.
Puno takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Puno pushes Frankels away with a front kick.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Frankels lands a nice hook to Puno's body. Puno takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Frankels.
Puno lets loose with a powerful body kick. Frankels will feel that in the morning.
A head kick from Frankels lands but Puno takes it in his stride.

Frankels slips under a jab from Puno.
Frankels swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Frankels.
Left hook, right uppercut from Puno.
Puno uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Frankels has time to react.
The cut above Rocket Bob Frankels's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Frankels lands with an uppercut that bounces Puno off the cage and back into range.
Puno lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
A head kick from Frankels lands but Puno takes it in his stride.
Puno drops Frankels with a beautiful combination! Frankels stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Puno is looking for the KO!
Frankels is rocked!
Frankels scores with a hook.
Frankels lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Puno feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Frankels sprawling to the canvas! Frankels rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Puno finish him?!
Frankels is still on wobbly legs! Can Puno finish him?
Rocket Bob Frankels's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.
Puno moves out of range of the body kick.
Puno looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Puno connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
The referee calls the doctor in to look at Rocket Bob Frankels's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Kajun Puno!
Kajun Puno was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
