Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rubin French (ranked 25171 p4p, 0 weight class) and Corey Anderson (ranked 5925 p4p, 0 weight class). Corey Anderson has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Rubin French!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Corey Anderson!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Timothy Bukovac and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Anderson shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. French manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
French is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Anderson dives into side control.

Anderson takes a little break here. French wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Anderson tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Anderson has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
The referee asks Anderson politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Anderson prefers to stall for the moment though.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Anderson's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

That's one minute gone in the round.
French tries to bench press Anderson off him but Anderson keeps the position.

French really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
French is looking to regain half guard here but Anderson keeps moving and retains side control.

A lull in the action here as Anderson stalls from top position.
French tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Anderson wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Anderson tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.
Anderson slows the pace down.

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
French knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Anderson on the ground.

Anderson stands up and we're back to a striking position.
French tries to score a power double leg takedown but Anderson sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten French somewhat.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Anderson closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Anderson remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

Anderson goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, French rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Anderson's guard! Nice work there by French!
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Anderson holds on and takes a little breather.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


French shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Anderson as he jumps to the side.
Anderson has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Nice takedown defense from Anderson. No joy for French on that attempt.

French has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Anderson off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
Rubin French is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

French gets caught flat footed, as Anderson shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Anderson stays in close to French's body and controls the position.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
French looking to control.

Anderson is stalling in the full guard.
Anderson with a nice head shot there.
French will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Anderson is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
French shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Rubin French. That's going to take a lot out of him.
No luck for French with that takedown attempt.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Anderson shoots in for a takedown and gets it.

French kicks off Anderson and gets to his feet.

Anderson looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Anderson will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
French feinted with a counter takedown.
Anderson with a body punch. A glancing blow.
Anderson connects with a nice cross there... French is looking wobbly and Anderson recognises it - he's rushed in and lands two more brutal shots that send French to the canvas, out cold! A brutal finish to the fight - Anderson jumps onto the cage to celebrate with the crowd!
