And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Antonio Silva!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, George Francis and Alan Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kirby with a poor takedown
and Silva counters with a nice uppercut.
Kirby shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Silva counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters.
Kirby tries for a takedown but Silva circles away easily
and Kirby takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jake Kirby. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Kirby throws a leg kick
and Silva counters with a good, hard body kick but Kirby shrugs it off.
Kirby misses with a takedown attempt
and Silva counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Kirby is lucky that one didn't land flush.
Kirby shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Silva throws a big counter head kick but Kirby avoids it with no problem.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Silva wants to stand but Kirby is controlling the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kirby is working Silva over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Silva has momentary wrist control but Kirby slips an elbow through the middle.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Kirby's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Kirby distracts Silva with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Kirby slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Both fighters have adopted an aggressive gameplan on the ground!
Silva is wriggling around but Kirby manages to pass to half guard.
Kirby not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Kirby looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Silva really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Kirby. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Silva is trying to stand up here but Kirby is controlling him well.

Kirby is sitting in half guard. He's postured up and lands a nice elbow. Oh, Silva is hurt! He's hurt bad - Kirby fires away with more strikes and the referee jumps in to save Silva from any more punishment! Congratulations to Kirby! Great finish!
