Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mohamed Walal (ranked 4979 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chris Em (ranked 4496 p4p, 0 weight class). Chris Em will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Mohamed Walal!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Chris Em!
The judges for this bout are Winston Alpacca, David Hoff and Sandra Marshall.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Walal tries to clinch up
and Em counters with a nice uppercut.
Walal looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.

Walal throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Em was covering up waiting for the punch and Walal finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Walal pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Em is keeping the position for now.
Walal trying to control the position from guard on top but Em is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Walal is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Em is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Walal pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Em is keeping the position for now.
Walal throwing strikes but missing.
Em trying to control the position.
Em can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Walal controls the pace.
Walal in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Jab by Em.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Walal walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Mohamed Walal seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Walal feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Em has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Walal off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
The fight stays on the outside here - Walal looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Em swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Walal throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
Em looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Walal with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Em to score with a decent uppercut.
Walal moves in looking to clinch but Em pushes him off.
Em misses with a jab to the body
and Walal counters with a series of strikes. Em will be more careful next time no doubt.
Em lands a jab to Walal's midsection.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Walal throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Em's waist but Em gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Walal off to one side.

Walal has taken the fight to the clinch.

Walal escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
We've been told by Walal's head coaches at Cozad The Island that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
A jab lands there for Em.
Walal misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Walal takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Em throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Walal on the side of the head.
Walal shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Em as he jumps to the side.
Walal is breathing heavily.
Walal misses with a takedown
and Em counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mohamed Walal. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Em sends Walal crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Em is motioning to the referee to let Walal up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!


Walal is rocked!

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Em circles away from the clinch attempt.
Walal on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.

Em feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Walal sprawling to the canvas! Walal rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Em finish him?!
Oh Walal is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Walal has managed to clinch.
Walal blocks a body shot from Em.
Walal seems to have got his legs back now.
Em presses Walal against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot.
Em digs a right hand into Walal's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Walal's gas tank.
Em lands with a short shot to the head.
Em scores with a nice hook to the head.
Em lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Walal backwards.
Em leaning his opponent against the cage.
Walal blocks a body shot from Em.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Chris Em dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Em works Walal's body with a nice hook.
Em scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Walal doesn't seem bothered though.
Em cracks Walal with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Walal shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Em sprawls well. Em wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Walal gets slowly back to his feet.
A cross from Em lands.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Walal shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Em pinned against the cage. Em gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
It seemed like Em was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Walal gets a takedown into half guard.
Em has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Em keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Em controlling the position well.
Walal is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Em tries to get to full guard but Walal has control of the leg.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Still in half guard, Walal seems content to control.
Walal trying to control from Em's half guard. Em has other ideas though and has regained full guard.
Em pulls Walal in to control the position.
Walal looking to pass the guard.

Em seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Walal looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
A nice side step and Em releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.
Walal tries to clinch up
and Em counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Em cracks a nice hook into Walal's ribs.
Em scores with a body shot.
Nice shot lands for Em.
Walal shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Em counters with a lovely straight right hand!
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mohamed Walal. That's going to take a lot out of him.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Em stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Nice straight punches there by Em. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Em.
Em cracks Walal with a hook to the temple - Walal is on wobbly legs here! Em swarms him with hook after hook, landing with each one! Walal falls to the canvas face first and the referee dives in to stop the fight! Em wins by TKO!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:20 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Chris Em!
A very excited looking Chris Em made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
