Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Taz Melodies (ranked 983 p4p, 131 weight class) and Frank Tyson (ranked 1043 p4p, 138 weight class). Taz Melodies had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
11 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Taz Melodies!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
9 - 6 - 0, fighting out of London, Frank Tyson!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Alan Glass and Stewart Dunkirk.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jab, jab by Melodies - just one landing.
Tyson with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Melodies to score with a decent uppercut.
A left lands for Melodies.
Melodies shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Tyson eats them both and turns towards Melodies to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Tyson tries to score a power double leg takedown but Melodies sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Tyson somewhat.

And Tyson tries to counter it with a takedown but Melodies pushes his down on his head and steps out.
Tyson swats away the attempt to clinch by Melodies.
Tyson with the counter takedown but Melodies avoids it easily.
Tyson closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Melodies is looking to regain half guard here but Tyson keeps moving and retains side control.
Melodies's coaches at Midnight MMA have been working on his defensive grappling in preparation for this fight so let's see if he can get out of this tricky position.
Tyson is staying tight to Melodies's torso, preventing him from escaping.
Melodies is looking for a sweep.

Melodies tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Tyson presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!

Tyson tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Tyson is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Melodies is surviving well by controlling Tyson's body position as best he can.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Tyson can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Melodies is looking to escape.

Melodies on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Melodies tries to get out of the position.

Tyson takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Melodies slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.
Tyson content to control rather than advance.
That's four minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Melodies keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Taz Melodies will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Tyson walks into a straight right hand from Melodies.
Melodies lands with a cross.
Melodies misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
A looping hook to the body misses from Melodies. Tyson does a little dance to reset his feet.
Tyson shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Melodies pinned against the cage. Melodies gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Tyson.
It looked like Melodies was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Tyson.
Melodies is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Tyson can do to turn this around?
Melodies misses the jab.
Tyson closes the distance and clinches up with Melodies, looking for a takedown. Tyson pushes Melodies against the cage but Melodies circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Taz Melodies has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Frank Tyson.
Melodies clobbers Tyson with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.

Melodies fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Tyson on the side of the head.
Melodies wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Tyson shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Melodies is trying to defend but Tyson finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Melodies wants to improve his position but Tyson is controlling well.

Tyson seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Melodies does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Melodies wants to get back to full guard.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Melodies throws an overhand right that lands on Tyson's shoulder, as Tyson tries to avoid the shot.
Tyson shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Melodies has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Tyson off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
Taz Melodies is winning the standup battle so far.
A jab from Melodies finds it's way through Tyson's defenses.

Tyson shoots in for a takedown but Melodies shows good takedown defense.
Tyson drives through with a takedown into Melodies's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Melodies wants to get back to his feet but Tyson passes into half guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!
Tyson goes for a double leg but Melodies avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Melodies continues to drive forward.

Tyson tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Melodies defends well and Tyson ends up having to push Melodies into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Tyson dives in and grabs Melodies's left leg, looking for a takedown. Melodies pushes down on Tyson's head and hops out.

Tyson shoots in looking for a takedown but Melodies manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Tyson's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Melodies lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.

Tyson closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Melodies holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.
Tyson is controlling the pace.
Melodies is looking to improve his position.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Melodies is trying to control but can't.
Tyson is taking a breather. Melodies says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Melodies is trying to stand back up but Tyson is controlling him
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Tyson shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Melodies is trying to defend but Tyson finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Melodies is holding on to half guard well.

Melodies has a hand on Tyson's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Tyson takes advantage of the position though and mounts him!
Tyson cracks Melodies with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Melodies tries to hold on but Tyson pushes him away.

Taz Melodies is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Taz Melodies.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Melodies, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Taz Melodies really struggled to get his t-shirt on before his hand was raised. Making sure that Bullet Proof System logo gets some air time is pretty tricky when you're all sweaty.
