Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Michael Storm (ranked 4327 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kiro Kirov (ranked 7813 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Michael Storm has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Michael Storm!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Kiro Kirov!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Timothy Bukovac and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kirov closes the distance and clinches.
Storm managing to block the knees to the body from Kirov.
Storm has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Kirov after a bit of a struggle.

Storm pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Kirov gets tackled into the cage by Storm. Storm maintains the clinch.
Storm softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage.
Storm jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Kirov walks away with a smile on his face. Storm gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Kirov throws a low kick but Storm avoids it.
Kirov goes for a double leg but Storm avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Storm continues to drive forward.

Kirov closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Kirov lands in his opponent's guard.
Storm is wriggling around but Kirov manages to pass to half guard.

Storm is looking to control Kirov's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Storm avoid being mounted?

Storm manages to get to full guard.
Storm wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Kirov is now in half guard.
Storm is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.
Kirov seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Storm is trying to get back to full guard.
Storm wants to control but Kirov is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Storm tries to roll over but Kirov keeps him under control.

Storm is not content to let Kirov control the position.
Kirov throwing shots but Storm is blocking nicely.
Kirov not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Kirov seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Storm wants to clinch

and Kirov counters with a nice double leg into half guard.

Storm has one foot on Kirov's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.

Storm feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Storm is breathing heavily.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Kirov has been taking part in the yoga sessions down at Cozad MMA Los Angeles. Presumably he's going to look for a slick submission... Or maybe he's looking to avoid one.

Storm would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Storm stopping the sweep attempt from Kirov.
Kirov wants to control the position but Storm says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.
Kirov is doing well to control the position and prevent Storm from advancing to side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kirov is staying active underneath Storm, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Kiro Kirov will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Kirov shoots in for a double leg but Storm sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Storm gets caught flat footed, as Kirov shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Kiro Kirov has got the better of the ground game so far.
Storm looking for a sweep. Not yet Storm, not yet.
Storm seems keen to control Kirov's posture.
Storm is trying to keep Kirov in close.

Storm has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Kirov is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Storm.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kirov advances nicely into full mount.

Storm tries to lock up and control but Kirov gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Kirov can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Storm is looking to escape.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kirov postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Storm looks a forlorn figure.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
BOOM! Kirov connects with a massive shot to the dome!

Storm defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Kirov.
Kirov trying to control but Storm is having none of it.
Storm is trying desperately to improve position.

Storm tries to hold on but Kirov pushes him away.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Storm keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Kirov sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.

Kirov is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Storm has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Kirov can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Storm is looking to escape.

Storm tries to improve his position but Kirov has taken his back! Kirov has a choke - it's sunk in pretty tight... Will Storm tap? No... maybe... yes! He's tapped! Kirov pushes Storm away and gets up to celebrate with his corner!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:32 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Kiro Kirov!
