Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Marek Koltun (ranked 937 p4p, 124 weight class) and Aznar Thrul (ranked 1194 p4p, 153 weight class). Aznar Thrul has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Marek Koltun's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 33 - 19 - 4, fighting out of Helsinki, Marek Koltun!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 30 - 28 - 3, fighting out of Las Vegas, Aznar Thrul!
The judges for this bout are William Peck, Elvis Blanc and Alec Ball.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Koltun stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Thrul.
A punch combination from Thrul misses.
Thrul looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Aznar Thrul seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Thrul throws a leg kick that misses.
Koltun drops down looking for a counter takedown but Thrul sprawls and moves away.
Koltun pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Thrul swings for the body but Koltun moves out of range.
Both fighters circling a little - Thrul finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.
Thrul pulls out of a head kick attempt.
A slapping leg kick lands for Koltun.
Thrul takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
The fighters circle momentarily. Koltun darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Thrul dives in for a single leg takedown but Koltun sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Koltun takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Thrul ducks under a wild hook from Koltun.
Thrul throws a front kick aimed at Koltun's knee but Koltun avoids it well.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Thrul throws a head kick that misses

so Koltun counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Koltun controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

Koltun throws an elbow that misses. Thrul uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Koltun's guard. Nice move by Thrul!

Koltun is pulling down on Thrul's head. It's preventing any offense from Thrul, at least for the moment.
Koltun continues to stall.
Koltun wants to sweep here but Thrul controlling him for the moment.
Thrul chips away with some ground and pound.

Koltun manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Thrul manages to get himself to full guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Koltun looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Koltun slips nicely into half guard.
Thrul has hold of Koltun's hands but Koltun slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Koltun takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Koltun looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Thrul with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Koltun thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Thrul's head.

Koltun is trying to control. Thrul wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Thrul throws a hook to the side of Koltun's head but Koltun sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Thrul rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Koltun moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

and Koltun counters with a nice double leg into side control. Thrul won't be happy with that.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Thrul on the wrong end of some ground and pound.
Koltun throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and Thrul works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure.

Koltun is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Thrul sees it coming and defends easily.

Koltun is working for a kimura but Thrul is defending it quite comfortably.

Koltun is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Koltun prevents Thrul from improving his position.

Koltun working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Aznar Thrul showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Koltun shoots for a takedown but Thrul saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Thrul misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Thrul looks to land a right hand but Koltun moved out of range.

Thrul feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Koltun's calf.
Koltun looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Thrul is fending him off so far but Koltun persists. Nope, Thrul circles away and we're back to standing.

Koltun is stalling here. Thrul is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Koltun seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Thrul has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Thrul remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
Marek Koltun overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Thrul wants to stand but Koltun has him controlled and pulls him back into his guard.

Koltun controls Thrul momentarily but Thrul frees himself.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Thrul with a flurry of punches that miss.

Koltun working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Thrul doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Thrul manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Koltun is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Aznar Thrul comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.

Aznar Thrul spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
