The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Macdonald displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from King.
King swats away the attempt to clinch by Macdonald.

Macdonald feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
King can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Macdonald controls the pace.

King tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
King drops down looking for an ankle pick but Macdonald pulls his leg out and moves away.

King throws a sloppy head kick and Macdonald moves out of range easily.

Macdonald has worked his way into a potential kimura here. King is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Macdonald yanks on the arm and King is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Macdonald.
