Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ivashin Dmitrievich (ranked 6550 p4p, 637 weight class) and Glenn Svensson (ranked 6208 p4p, 623 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dmitrievich misses with a hook.
We've been told by Dmitrievich's head coaches at LOD: Scrap Squad that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Dmitrievich throws out a leg kick but Svensson moves out of range and Dmitrievich only half commits.
Dmitrievich lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Dmitrievich bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Svensson slips under a jab from Dmitrievich.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Svensson! But no joy.
Dmitrievich connects with a nice looking jab.
Dmitrievich fails to land with a series of punches.
Svensson is looking to slow Dmitrievich down with leg kicks.

Svensson scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

We've been informed that Svensson has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.

Dmitrievich throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.
Svensson lands a shoulder strike.
Dmitrievich lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Svensson backwards.

Dmitrievich breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Dmitrievich, as that shot connected.
Dmitrievich scores with the left hand. Svensson knows he should have avoided that one.
Dmitrievich is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.

Dmitrievich was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Dmitrievich tries to bum rush Svensson with a series of wild strikes but Svensson uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Ivashin Dmitrievich seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Dmitrievich lands a jab and follows it up with a massive straight that knocks Svensson out cold! Svensson is crumpled in the corner, his head only propped up by the cage! That's one for the organiziational promos right there! Wow, what a finish!
