Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Randolph Warner (ranked 25444 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fip Felipe (ranked 8806 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Randolph Warner!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Fip Felipe!
The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Alexandre Firmino and Daniel Cesar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice sprawl there from Warner as Felipe shoots in.
Felipe tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Warner paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Felipe takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Warner shoots in for a takedown but Felipe shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Felipe feints the counter takedown.
Warner throws a body kick that misses.
Warner fails with the takedown

and Felipe counters with a crisp one two that drops Warner! Felipe thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Warner to his feet! Warner is in big trouble!
Fip Felipe seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Felipe is trying hard to land a takedown here. Warner sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Warner feinted with a counter takedown.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Warner changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Felipe tries to avoid it but Warner manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Felipe to the ground. Felipe escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

A quick step to the side and Warner tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.

Felipe escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Felipe tries to land a front kick but Warner steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Warner appears to be looking for a counter takedown.
Felipe shoots in for a double leg but Warner sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Warner went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.

This has been an exciting period of action!
The ground and pound from Warner seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.

Warner really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Felipe is trying to control Warner's posture but Warner avoids it.
Felipe tries to buck Warner off but Warner is having none of it.
Warner sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Felipe is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.

and Warner cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Felipe tries to score a power double leg takedown but Warner sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Felipe somewhat.
Warner throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Warner throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Felipe.

Felipe shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Warner defends it nicely.

The fight stays on the outside here - Felipe looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Warner shoots for a double leg takedown but Felipe sprawls well. He's pushed Warner's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Felipe is looking to clinch but Warner is avoiding it.
Warner throws a quick counter head kick but Felipe was just out of range.

and Felipe counters with a head kick. That will keep Warner thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!

And Warner counters with a quick kick to the body but Felipe blocks it.
Felipe stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Warner.
Felipe tries to score a power double leg takedown but Warner sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Felipe somewhat.
Warner looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Felipe gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Felipe ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Felipe no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Felipe is looking for a triangle but Warner pushes his legs off easily.
Felipe preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Warner accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Warner keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Felipe's head.
Warner lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Warner postures up in Felipe's guard and throws a big left but Felipe blocks it.
Warner would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Felipe wants to hit a switch here but Warner passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Felipe there!

Warner goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Felipe turns into him and now he's in Warner's guard.
Felipe throws a big right hand that misses.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Felipe drops back looking for a leg! Warner is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Warner manages to kick Felipe off! Felipe jumps back into Warner's guard.

Warner is looking for a triangle but Felipe pushes his legs off easily.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Randolph Warner.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Warner, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
