Coming up we have a light heavyweight Tycoon World Grappling Championship rules bout between Joao Pedro Mauricio DeSilva (ranked 624 p4p, 85 weight class) and Kostas Mytilinaios (ranked 766 p4p, 113 weight class). Mytilinaios has chosen Sanitarium as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

In the red corner, competing out of Montreal, with a TWGC record of 0 wins and 2 losses; Joao Pedro Mauricio DeSilva! And in the blue corner, fighting out of New York, with a TWGC record of 5 wins and 6 losses; Kostas Mytilinaios!
The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Eliza Hachem and Chris Dean.

DeSilva closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Mytilinaios has DeSilva pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. DeSilva manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Mytilinaios has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by DeSilva after a bit of a struggle.

DeSilva pulls Mytilinaios into guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
DeSilva keeping moving, preventing Mytilinaios from controlling successfully.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

DeSilva is looking for a triangle but Mytilinaios pushes his legs off easily.
DeSilva tries to land a sweep but no joy.

DeSilva escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Mytilinaios gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Mytilinaios is looking to pass into half guard but DeSilva pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now DeSilva is in guard.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
DeSilva wants to pass the guard but Mytilinaios is keeping the position.

Mytilinaios isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. DeSilva stacks Mytilinaios on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by DeSilva!

Mytilinaios is looking to regain half guard here but DeSilva keeps moving and retains side control.

Mytilinaios prevents DeSilva from moving into mount.
Mytilinaios is trying to get back to half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

DeSilva is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Mytilinaios knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
DeSilva advances to mount.

Mytilinaios tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Mytilinaios is squirming around, avoiding DeSilva's attempts to control the action.
Mytilinaios manages to regain half guard. Good work.
DeSilva is looking for the mount but instead finds himself back in full guard.
DeSilva stopping the sweep attempt from Mytilinaios.
DeSilva trying to control the position from guard on top but Mytilinaios is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Mytilinaios is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
DeSilva has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

DeSilva content to sit in guard, stalling... Great. Oh but he could get punished here because Mytilinaios has locked up a guillotine! Mytilinaios's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? DeSilva is holding on here and Mytilinaios must be using up a lot of energy. DeSilva has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! Mytilinaios gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!
