Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Kotetsu Yamamoto (ranked 557 p4p, 70 weight class) and Davie Brophy (ranked 726 p4p, 86 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Brophy's choice of entrance music: Pantera - Walk. Davie Brophy acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 21 - 8 - 2, fighting out of New York, Kotetsu Yamamoto!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 25 - 12 - 0, fighting out of London, Davie Brophy!
The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, Daniel Bishop and James Ackerman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brophy throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Yamamoto tries to counter with a takedown but Brophy is quick to defend against it.
Brophy throws out a loose jab but Yamamoto uses good head movement to avoid it.
Yamamoto bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Brophy throws a head kick that misses.
Brophy tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Yamamoto was well out of range. Poor timing from Brophy.
A big right from Brophy misses.
Yamamoto throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
We've been informed that Brophy has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
Brophy avoids the body shot from Yamamoto.
Yamamoto thuds his right hand into Brophy's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Yamamoto bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Brophy's head backwards.

Yamamoto drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Brophy manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Yamamoto has Brophy in his guard.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Yamamoto has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Brophy can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Brophy got a little sloppy there for a moment and Yamamoto has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Brophy has managed to get both his arms back between Yamamoto's legs - danger averted.

Yamamoto isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Brophy stacks Yamamoto on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Brophy!

That was a close round but I would say that Kotetsu Yamamoto will probably get the nod.

Well Brophy has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
