Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Art Brock (ranked 1310 p4p, 188 weight class) and Dr A Hedgeh (ranked 2669 p4p, 359 weight class). Hedgeh has chosen Dr Who? as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brock misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Hedgeh.
Hedgeh steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from Brock.

Hedgeh takes one to the chin there.

It looks like Dr A Hedgeh has been cut.
Hedgeh is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Brock.
Brock is looking to land body kicks.

Hedgeh works Brock's body with a nice hook.
Nice shot lands for Brock.
Brock throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
A slapping body kick lands there for Brock.
Brock takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Hedgeh throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Hedgeh gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Hedgeh fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Brock looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Brock throws a head kick but Hedgeh moves out of range.
Hedgeh tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
Brock changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Brock lands a nice hook to Hedgeh's body. Hedgeh takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Hedgeh shoots for a takedown but Brock saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Hedgeh scores with a hook to the body. Brock takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Brock looks to throw a body kick
and Hedgeh counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

Brock takes the fight into the clinch.
Hedgeh swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Hedgeh fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Hedgeh misses with a punch on the inside.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Hedgeh creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Brock tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.

Brock manages to break the clinch.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Brock with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Brock avoids the body shot from Hedgeh.
Brock seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.
A nice inside leg kick there by Brock. That's going to slow Hedgeh down.
Art Brock seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and Hedgeh decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Brock's guard.
Hedgeh trying to control but Brock is working from the bottom.
Hedgeh lands a couple of elbows.
Hedgeh throws an elbow that misses. Brock uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Hedgeh's guard. Nice move by Brock!

Hedgeh has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Brock can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Brock is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

Brock throws a big elbow that misses.

Brock stands up and waves to Hedgeh to follow him.
Hedgeh ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Brock moves away.
Brock attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.
Brock wants to clinch.
Brock throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Brock lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.

Brock drops Hedgeh with a beautiful combination! Hedgeh stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Brock is looking for the KO!
Good exchange - Brock coming out on top.

Hedgeh is rocked!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Brock lands hard precision jab right on the jaw that stiffens Hedgeh up and sends him tumbling to the mat! The ref grabs Brock from behind before he can pounce. Some folks in the crowd didn't like that stoppage, but I saw Hedgeh's eyes roll way back in his head, he was done.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Art Brock!
A relieved looking Art Brock thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
