The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Mirzamagomedov clinches up with Boranbayev and pushes him back against the cage.

Boranbayev breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Mirzamagomedov is trying to force a seperation but Boranbayev has the dominant position.
Mirzamagomedov drops down looking for an ankle pick but Boranbayev pulls his leg out and moves away.

Boranbayev fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Mirzamagomedov sprawls well initially but Boranbayev persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Mirzamagomedov wants to control but Boranbayev is keeping busy.
Boranbayev lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Mirzamagomedov is doing well to control the position and prevent Boranbayev from advancing to side control.

The fighters are battling for position here. Mirzamagomedov manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Boranbayev really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Mirzamagomedov. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Boranbayev content to sit in guard, stalling... Great. Oh but he could get punished here because Mirzamagomedov has locked up a guillotine! Mirzamagomedov's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? Boranbayev is holding on here and Mirzamagomedov must be using up a lot of energy. Boranbayev has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! Mirzamagomedov gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!
