Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Muggsy Malone (ranked 25011 p4p, 0 weight class) and Quantum Lock (ranked 8379 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Muggsy Malone!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Quantum Lock!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Lock moves into the clinch.

Lock ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Lock no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Malone looking to pass the guard.
Lock trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage.
Lock wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Malone knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Lock on the ground.
Malone showing good wrestling skills to control the position.

Lock working for a triangle but Malone defends it easily.
Lock has been taking part in the yoga sessions down at Death Valley Training Facility. Presumably he's going to look for a slick submission... Or maybe he's looking to avoid one.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Lock escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Malone gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Malone is looking to advance position but Lock has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!

Lock throws some wild stikes that Malone manages to avoid easily.
Lock tries to control but Malone wriggling away.
Lock thowing shots but they're missing.

Malone working to try and regain half guard.
Malone has given up his back here.
Lock slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.

Lock is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Malone is defending well though. Lock let's go of the attempt for now.
Lock tries to keep control of the position but Malone is staying busy.

Lock controls the action.
Lock controlling well, preventing Malone from escaping the position.
The crowd hopeful of a finish here - Lock's supporters are on their feet, screaming for him to go for the rear naked choke.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Lock is trying to stick to Malone's back but Malone is turning into Lock. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Lock's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Malone.

Malone pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Lock is keeping the position for now.
Malone wanted to stand there but Lock had control of the position.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

No luck for Lock with that takedown attempt.
Malone seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.
Lock throws a lazy uppercut
and Malone counters with a leg kick.
Lock tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Lock moves in looking to clinch but Malone pushes him off.
Malone tries to score a power double leg takedown but Lock sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Malone somewhat.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Malone shoots in looking for a takedown but Lock manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Malone's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Lock forces Malone back against the cage and clinches.
Lock tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Malone smiles and moves away.

Lock shoots in but Malone avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Malone attempts a counter takedown but Lock avoids it well and moves away.
Muggsy Malone has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Quantum Lock.
Malone shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Lock sprawls well. Lock wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Malone gets slowly back to his feet.
Lock is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own.
Lock misses with a takedown attempt - Malone sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Lock has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Malone's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Malone fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Lock avoids it really well and circles away.
Lock shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Malone counters with a good low kick that Lock was not able to check.

Malone rushes Lock and presses him up against the cage.
Lock wants to break the clinch but can't.
Lock blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Malone tries for a takedown. No joy.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Lock has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Lock drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Malone gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Malone tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
Lock changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Malone fights it off and pushes away nicely.

and Malone counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

Quantum Lock seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Malone tries for a takedown but Lock sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Malone gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Lock to score an easy takedown into full guard.

That's time! Malone's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!



Lock drives through with a takedown into guard.
Malone looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Lock puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
Lock is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Malone is trying to stand up here but Lock is controlling him well.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Malone trying to get back to full guard but Lock takes advantage of the position and moves to full mount!

Lock looking to control but Malone is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Lock takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Lock cracks Malone with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Lock misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
Lock controlling the pace for now.
Malone is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

Lock working away from the top, dropping strikes.

Lock stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet.
Lock leaves Malone with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Malone keeps the fight on the outside.
Lock tries for a takedown but Malone sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Malone tries to counter with a takedown but Lock is quick to defend against it.

Lock drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

Malone has his feet on Lock's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.

Malone throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Lock stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Lock swings for the body but Malone moves out of range.

Lock moves into the clinch successfully.

Lock is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Malone can't fight it off and eventually Lock manages to take the fight to the floor. Malone looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Malone pushes Lock off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.

Lock takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Malone clinches.
Malone effectively controlling the action here.
Lock has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Malone is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Muggsy Malone has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Quantum Lock.
Lock prevents the takedown attempt.
Malone fails to pull guard.

Malone's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Malone enables Lock to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Malone manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Malone has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Lock with a nice head shot there.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Quantum Lock.
I think Lock has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
