Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Chong Tay (ranked 7446 p4p, 658 weight class) and Pacer Dalton (ranked 4296 p4p, 510 weight class). Chong Tay has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Chong Tay!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Pacer Dalton!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Frank Antenori and .




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tay throws a leg kick but Dalton sees it coming and moves out of range.
Dalton changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
Tay connects with a solid leg kick.
Tay connects with a solid leg kick.
Sloppy strikes from Tay. Those never looked like landing.
A decent looking cross lands there for Tay.


It looks like Pacer Dalton has been cut.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Tay displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Dalton.
Tay throws a head kick but Dalton moves out of range.
Tay fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
A combination from Tay does no damage.

Dalton gets the takedown into side control.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Let's hope that Dalton has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
It looks like Dalton might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

Dalton is continuing to stall.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Dalton avoids a punch combination nicely.
No joy there for Tay, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Dalton drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Tay defends it well.
Tay lands a nice leg kick that just misses Dalton's sensitive parts.
Tay misses with a body kick.
Tay connects with a leg kick. Dalton looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Chong Tay is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Tay throws a right and a left that both miss.
Tay loads up on a big right hand but Dalton slips the punch.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Dalton can do anything to dispel that myth.
Dalton pulls Tay in close to his closed guard and prevents Tay from doing any damage or advancing position.
Dalton wants to improve his position but instead Tay has moved into half guard.
Dalton felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.
Dalton holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.
Tay seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
Dalton is controlling Tay's trapped leg to prevent Tay from advancing to side control.

Tay gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Dalton to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Dalton tries to free his leg and advance position but Tay is retaining full guard.

We're seeing a lot of stalling here from Dalton.
Tay can't keep his opponent in guard - Dalton advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Dalton wants to pass the guard but Tay is defending well.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Tay looks like he's trying to stand up.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Tay gets off balance looking for a body kick

and Dalton counters with a shoot takedown. Tay fights it but they end up in guard.
Dalton is stalling in the full guard.

The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Dalton stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Tay swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Dalton shoots in for a double leg but Tay sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Chong Tay seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Dalton dives in and scores a takedown into Tay's guard.

Pacer Dalton showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

That's time! Tay's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

Chong Tay has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Pacer Dalton.
Dalton blocks a jab.
Tay lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Dalton throws a wild hook but Tay just manages to duck under it and - ooooh! Dalton gets nailed by a brutal uppercut which crumples him back against the cage! The referee jumps in - Tay raises his hands in celebration and walks away!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:50 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Chong Tay!
In his post fight interview, Chong Tay started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
