Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Paulo Da Silva Miyao (ranked 3412 p4p, 383 weight class) and Victor Stroev (ranked 4935 p4p, 0 weight class). Victor Stroev acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Paulo Da Silva Miyao!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Victor Stroev!
The judges for this bout are Konstantin Menshow, Sergei Dronov and Vladimir Khabensky.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Miyao with a lazy takedown attempt

and Stroev moves into the clinch.

Stroev jumps guard and drags Miyao to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Stroev trying to strike off his back.
Stroev has a closed guard, preventing Miyao from standing up.
Miyao prevents Stroev from getting back to his feet.
Miyao trying to control but Stroev is working from the bottom.
Stroev looking for a sweep. Not yet Stroev, not yet.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Stroev can do anything to dispel that myth.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Miyao won't allow Stroev to get back to his feet.

Miyao got a little sloppy there for a moment and Stroev has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Miyao has managed to get both his arms back between Stroev's legs - danger averted.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Miyao misses with a body kick.
Stroev slaps away a takedown attempt from Miyao, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Miyao defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Stroev.
Miyao misses the shot to the body.
Stroev unleashes a big counter combination but Miyao bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.

Miyao wants to control from the top but Stroev keeps moving.
Miyao throws a big elbow that misses.
Stroev has control of Miyao's left arm, preventing Miyao from doing any damage.
Stroev is continuing to stall.

Stroev wants to get back to his feet but Miyao is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Miyao darts in looking for a takedown but Stroev gets double underhooks and turns Miyao into the cage.

Stroev has managed to clinch.

Stroev gets control of Miyao's arms and successfully pulls guard. Stroev will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Stroev looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Stroev isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Miyao stacks Stroev on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Miyao!

Miyao wants to lay and pray for a moment but Stroev keeps working.
Stroev isn't going anywhere.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Miyao tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Miyao has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Victor Stroev dominated that round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!



Stroev moves into range and clinches up with Miyao.

Stroev breaks from the clinch.
Miyao closes the distance looking to clinch

and Stroev counters with a takedown into side control.
Stroev trying to control the action but Miyao is working from the bottom.
Miyao is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Stroev wants to stand but Miyao has him controlled and pulls him back into his guard.

Miyao manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Stroev manages to get himself to full guard.

Stroev really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Miyao. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Stroev wants to sweep here but Miyao controlling him for the moment.
Miyao trying to control the position from guard on top but Stroev is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Stroev wants to get back to his feet but Miyao is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Stroev throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Miyao escapes and throws Stroev's legs to the side, diving into side control!
Stroev is trying to get back to half guard.
Stroev is trying to control Miyao's posture but Miyao avoids it.
Miyao wants to lay and pray for a moment but Stroev keeps working.

Stroev is trying to buck Miyao off.
Stroev struggling a bit here.

Miyao wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Stroev, who protects the arm well.
Stroev is looking for a sweep.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Miyao looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Stroev is looking to reverse the position.
Stroev is still trying to improve position.
Miyao is looking to take a break and control but Stroev is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Stroev is looking to regain half guard here but Miyao keeps moving and retains side control.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!



Stroev moves into the clinch.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.
Stroev is pushing Miyao up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
The crowd are getting on Stroev's back here. They're not happy about his lack of aggression in the clinch.
Stroev lands a right hand.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Miyao jumps guard but Stroev stands there with Miyao around his waist. Miyao gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Stroev has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Miyao regains guard immediately.
Stroev controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

Stroev postures up and lands a big shot to Miyao's brow.
Stroev trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Stroev won't allow Miyao to get back to his feet.
Victor Stroev has got the better of the ground game so far.

Miyao is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Stroev sitting in guard here, content to control.
Stroev stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Miyao swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Stroev has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Miyao bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Stroev's guard.

Stroev looking for a sweep. Not yet Stroev, not yet.

Miyao is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Stroev pulls Miyao in close to prevent any damage.
Miyao stops Stroev from standing up.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Miyao stays in close to Stroev's body and controls the position.

Miyao stands up from Stroev's guard - Miyao perhaps looking for a knockout.
Stroev shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Miyao tries to score a power double leg takedown but Stroev sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Miyao somewhat.

Stroev decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Stroev throwing shots but Miyao is blocking nicely.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Stroev tries to stand and escape but Miyao is controlling the position.
Well, if Stroev is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Stroev is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
Still in half guard, Stroev seems content to control.
Stroev not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Stroev lands a nice short elbow.
Stroev wants to get back to his feet.

And that's the end of the fight!
Victor Stroev comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Stroev has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
