Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 1, fighting out of New York, Harley Marsh!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mark Mitchell!
The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, Lou da Vinci and Chad Campbell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Mitchell gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Marsh wants to get back to striking at distance but Mitchell won't allow it.
Marsh is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Mitchell to keep the fight standing.
Mitchell has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Marsh after a bit of a struggle.
Marsh wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

Mitchell pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Mitchell has closed the distance and engaged Marsh in a clinch.

Mitchell can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Marsh controls the pace.

Marsh gets to his feet - Mitchell follows without any prompting.
Mitchell shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Marsh defends it nicely.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Mitchell fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Marsh avoids it really well and circles away.

The fighters circle momentarily. Mitchell darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

Mitchell fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Marsh, pushing him back against the cage.
Mitchell drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Marsh gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Marsh breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Marsh takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.

Marsh fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Mitchell, pushing him back against the cage.
Mitchell wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Mitchell blocks a punch to the side of the head.

Mitchell manages to break the clinch.

Mitchell tries to sprawl but Marsh drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Marsh content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Marsh will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

It looks like Marsh is going to stand back up.
Marsh really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Marsh decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Marsh avoids a punch combination nicely.
Marsh changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Mitchell tries to avoid it but Marsh manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Mitchell to the ground. Mitchell escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Mitchell closes the distance and clinches up with Marsh, looking for a takedown. Mitchell pushes Marsh against the cage but Marsh circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Mark Mitchell showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Marsh is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Mitchell throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Marsh escapes and throws Mitchell's legs to the side, diving into side control!
Mitchell takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Marsh seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Mitchell for as long as he can get away with.

Mitchell wants to control but Marsh postures up.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
