Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Azizi Camara!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Marcus Wood!
The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, Chad Campbell and Dean Styles.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Camara gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Camara struggles to land a body shot inside as Wood controls his hands.
Camara lands a hook that snaps the head of Wood backwards.

I was talking to Camara's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.

Wood is trying to trip Camara. He has hold of a leg but Camara is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Wood persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

Camara is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Wood defends well.
Camara wants to stand up but Wood is controlling him.
Camara trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Camara not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Wood avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Camara throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Wood escapes and throws Camara's legs to the side, diving into side control!
Camara is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Wood has just dragged him back down to the mat.
Camara is looking for a sweep.
Camara takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Camara is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Wood is controlling him well.

Wood has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Azizi Camara seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Camara misses with a series of wild punches.
Wood has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.

Camara rushes Wood and presses him up against the cage.

Camara takes the fight into the clinch.
Camara lands with a right to the head.
Wood lands with a left to the head.
Camara cracks Wood with a nice body shot.

A nice right hand lands inside from Camara.
Camara scores with a nice hook to the head.
Wood jumps guard but Camara turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Camara wants a takedown.
Camara just leaning against Wood, taking a breather.
Wood misses with a hook to the ribs.

Wood tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Camara blocks an uppercut.
Wood is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.

Camara blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Wood throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.

Wood escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Wood gets cracked there but stands up to it.

A jab-cross combination lands for Camara and sends Wood crashing to the mat! Camara follows him down to the mat - Wood regains half guard but he's not out of trouble yet!


Wood is rocked!


That has opened up Marcus Wood's cut even more.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Camara tries to stand but his arm is trapped.

Camara is trying to work for a kimura but Wood is defending well.

Camara is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Wood tries to roll over but Camara keeps him under control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The cut man is working on Marcus Wood's cut.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!



Camara has closed the distance and engaged Wood in a clinch.
A head punch on the inside from Camara fails to land.
Camara has a couple of punches blocked by Wood.
Camara is leaning against Wood and scores with a nice uppercut to the body.
Camara lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
Camara throws a punch but it's blocked by Wood.
Camara throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.

Camara ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Camara no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Wood prevents Camara from getting back to his feet.

Camara is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Camara has his foot on Wood's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Wood works his way back into a safe position though.
Camara is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Camara is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Wood can do to turn this around?

Wood got a little sloppy there for a moment and Camara has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Wood has managed to get both his arms back between Camara's legs - danger averted.

Camara has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Wood doesn't defend quickly enough and Camara has managed to lock this one up! Can Wood escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Camara on a fantastic submission victory.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:36 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Azizi Camara!
Azizi Camara decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
