Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 16 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kylar Sensei!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 8 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Eddie Malingo!
The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Steve Erwin and Francis DeMontford.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sensei gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Malingo takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Malingo uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Sensei.
It seemed like Malingo was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Sensei lands a nice hook to Malingo's body. Malingo takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Sensei throws a big shot that misses.
Malingo doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Malingo avoids the body shot from Sensei.
A looping hook to the body misses from Sensei. Malingo does a little dance to reset his feet.
Sensei with a body punch. A glancing blow.
Sensei has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Sensei just misses with a punch to the body.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Sensei uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.

Sensei shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Malingo trying to control here.

Sensei wants to free his trapped foot but Malingo is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Sensei scoring with strikes to the body and head.
Malingo gets full guard.
Sensei trying to control but Malingo is working from the bottom.
Sensei postures up in Malingo's guard and throws a big left but Malingo blocks it.
Sensei is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Sensei working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Sensei stands up over Malingo, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Sensei is in close to Malingo's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Malingo is trying to control the position but Sensei postures up.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Malingo has momentary wrist control but Sensei slips an elbow through the middle.

Malingo looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Sensei passes into side control.
Sensei working the ground and pound.
Malingo is working to avoid the ground and pound but Sensei connects with a decent elbow.
Sensei scores with punches from side control.
Sensei working the ground and pound.
Malingo is trying to control Sensei's posture but Sensei avoids it.
Sensei connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Malingo some visible discomfort.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Sensei lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.
Malingo tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Sensei wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Malingo on the wrong end of some ground and pound.

Sensei wants to lay and pray for a moment but Malingo keeps working.
Malingo is working to avoid the ground and pound but Sensei connects with a decent elbow.
Malingo is trying to improve his position.
Sensei lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.
Sensei looks up at the clock and then as Malingo takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Sensei smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Malingo takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.
Malingo takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Malingo is rocked!
Malingo tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Sensei presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!
Malingo is still in real trouble! Can Sensei finish him?
Sensei landing strikes from the mount.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Malingo really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Sensei is in the full mount, landing strikes.
Oooooh, big shot lands for Sensei! Malingo is hurt baaadly! Sensei is firing away with more strikes - Malingo is covering up... the ref is warning him to do something. He's just covering up though still and the ref has to step in to end the fight! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:39 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Kylar Sensei!
During a confident post fight interview, Kylar Sensei thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
