Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Retherford cracks Burns with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Retherford fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Burns manages to avoid it.
Burns changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Retherford tries to avoid it but Burns manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Retherford to the ground. Retherford escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Burns fails with the takedown
and Retherford counters with a straight right hand.
Burns shoots in but no luck this time.
Retherford is looking to counter punch.
Zain Retherford has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Herbert Burns.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Burns.
Burns looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Retherford is fending him off so far but Burns persists. Nope, Retherford circles away and we're back to standing.
Burns misses with a takedown attempt - Retherford sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Retherford connects with a looping right hand.
Retherford has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

Retherford fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Burns sprawls well initially but Retherford persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Burns has hold of Retherford's hands but Retherford slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Burns wants to get back to full guard.
Burns wants to control the action here but instead Retherford manages to pass to full mount!

A big strike lands for Retherford! That's really hurt Burns and he's turned his back - Retherford keeps firing away and the ref dives in to stop the fight! Retherford jumps to his feet to celebrate the victory!

Zain Retherford decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little.
